Krigbaum, Amy

My name is Amy.  I was born and raised in the small town of Kearney, about 25 minutes north of Kansas City.   I was raised in a Christian home.  For me, that meant church every Sunday morning, night, and Wednesday.  I also attended a Christian school K-12th grade.
But doing these things did not save me from my sin.

When I was six years old, I accepted Christ as my personal Lord and Savior.  I was at home with my parents and brother.  I remember my prayer almost word for word. I knew deep down in heart that I was forever changed.  It is a moment I have never forgotten. Being a Christian wasn’t just “a thing I did”, God became who I lived for.

I have had my share of struggles in understanding of God.  I have struggled with the desire to know Him more.  There were times where I didn’t understand why I should know God more. After all, I had learned about Him constantly my whole life, what more could be learned?  I was saved, it was all I needed. Thankfully, He continued, and still continues, to pursue me that I might know Him more, and want to know Him. God has faithfully placed people and situations in my life to allow me to get to know Him in deeper ways.

I attended Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, FL where I majored in Education and minored in Bible.  After graduation, I started teaching.  I have taught for 16 years, including pre-school all the way through 8th grade.

I desire to one day find my soul mate.
It is a true desire of my heart,
but I am trusting God to bring that around in His time.

While I wait, I serve at my church, school, and currently studying to be a biblical counselor.  I have two parents, a brother and sister-in-law, one niece and one nephew that I enjoy spending time with.  I also have friends that I like to spend time with and travel to visit or travel with around the USA and the world.  I have been on various mission trips through the years as well.

My walk with Christ has grown tremendously over the last few years.
I have been learning what it really means to walk by faith and hear God’s voice.
It can be hard to hear God’s voice with many other voices around us.

I am learning that to hear God’s voice,
we must know His Word.

I have been digging deeper in the truths of God through women’s Bible study and through prayer. For many years, I didn’t understand the “real” relationship with God. God was part of the education/learning experience, where not much of a relationship was involved.  For a while, Bible studies were just another part of the education process…even though it was after college.

Over the years, I have really opened my heart to God and allowed Him to show me His true love for me.  It has taken some time, but I have learned to let Him in.
He shows me more and more about who He is each day!

I am excited about the opportunity to be a part of the GT family and to dig deeper into God’s Word and share what He lays on my heart.
I am excited to share my story with you!
