Pause 2, Day 10
This “in-the-trenches” book of suffering, of enemy attacks, of warring against the desires of our sinful flesh, ends with a mighty victory speech.
I have a hard time reading this chapter without tears in my eyes as I consider all of my own sufferings and putting them in context of incorruptible faith and hope.
Our God is a Mighty Warrior, a protecting God, and a tender Chief Shepherd, who sees our sufferings and is deeply familiar with each broken place on our souls that is tender to the touch.
He sees the anguish, the struggles, the temptation to give in to defeat, but He lifts our head, pointing our eyes towards the
incorruptible future where all will be made right.
Sisters, I reach out to hold your hand as you survey your hurts, your wounds, your sadness, your grief, your loss; all of those aches, whether as small as the whole box of Cheerios on the floor again, or the empty cavern left by the death of a loved one, are known. I’m reaching out to hold your hand, as you reach out to hold another’s, and she reaches to hold another’s.
Our hope is coming, Sister.
It’s incorruptible!
In the meantime, take courage and love the sheep around you as you proclaim this hope!
The God of all grace,
who called you to His eternal glory in Christ,
will Himself
restore, establish, strengthen, and support
you after you have suffered a little while.
To him be dominion forever.
Amen!

Today's Invitation
1) Read through 1 Peter 5 out loud today twice. Slowly. Linger over that verse (or verses) that stick out to you, slowing and listening as God’s Spirit speaks to your heart! Choose 1 or 2 to write out on notecards and post them around your house – then post a picture of your reminder cards on Instagram or on our Facebook Community Page. Take the weekend to memorize these and forever hide them in your heart!
2) We are so excited to share this hand-crafted Spotify playlist! We created it as we prayed over *you*. Put this playlist on repeat this weekend and be reminded of the rich truths God has shown you this week in Pause!

Colossians 1:1-14
Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother,
2 To the saints and faithful brothers in Christ at Colossae:
Grace to you and peace from God our Father.
3 We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you,4 since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all the saints, 5 because of the hope laid up for you in heaven. Of this you have heard before in the word of the truth, the gospel, 6 which has come to you, as indeed in the whole world it is bearing fruit and increasing—as it also does among you, since the day you heard it and understood the grace of God in truth, 7 just as you learned it from Epaphras our beloved fellow servant. He is a faithful minister of Christ on your behalf 8 and has made known to us your love in the Spirit.
9 And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10 so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;11 being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy; 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. 13 He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Embracing God’s fullness in our lives is rooted in scripture and memorizing His word is vital to our continued growth and depth with Jesus. Tap and hold from your mobile device to download this week’s verse and make it your phone’s lockscreen!
