The GT Weekend!
At Gracefully Truthful, weekends aren’t for “checking out”.
Use this time to invite the Almighty’s fullness into you life in a deeper way!
Saturdays and Sundays are a chance to
reflect, rest, and re-center our lives onto Christ.
Don’t miss the opportunity to connect with other women in prayer,
rest your soul in reflective journaling,
and spend time worshiping the Creator who
longs for intimacy with each of us!
Worship Through Journaling
Worship Through Journaling
1) Regardless of your physical fitness, how do you “exercise” your spiritual muscles? How do you view spiritual disciplines like prayer, fasting, Scripture memorization, journaling, Scripture reading, church involvement, and engagement in biblical community? Skeptical? Excited? Life-giving necessity? If you were to give a “strength test” number from 1-5 for each of these, which ones would rank lowest? Give some time this weekend for making a plan to begin strengthening 1 or 2 of these and may the Lord bless you richly!
2) What are your gut reactions to Bri’s opening statement, “The world is dying”? As you go about your regular, everyday life this weekend, ask the Spirit to open your heart and eyes to see people through this lens, “The world is dying”. If it’s true, our mission to extend the gospel, the only hope for eternity, becomes paramount. What would it look like if you were to become increasingly more intentional in how you lived in light of this reality? Who can you reach? Who can you pray for?
3) Yesterday, Sarah challenged us to intentionally, fervently, and boldly wrestle in prayer on behalf of others. What do you believe about prayer? Why? How are your beliefs reflected in your prayer life? Intentionally set aside 10 minutes today to sit in silence with the Lord and His word. Read through Colossians 4:7-17, slowly savoring the words and their implications. Be quiet before the Lord, ready to hear His whispers. Who is He asking you to pray for? Who does He want to wrestle on behalf of? Write down those names or situations and fervently follow through. Set reminders on your phone, put up post it notes, decide to pray while you make dinner. Whatever you do, choose to wrestle diligently for these!
Praying Scripture back to the One who wrote it in the first place is a great way to jump start our prayer-life! Pray this passage from Colossians 4:2-4 back to the Lord and
let His Spirit speak to you through it!
Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison— that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak.
Prayer Journal
You know I’ve struggled with prayer, Lord. Wondering why we have to pray. Aren’t You going to do what You will do anyways? You’ve walked beside me as I’ve explored prayer, You’ve guided and gently prodded, prompting me to ever trust You more deeply. You’ve called me over and over to trust what You say about prayer, that it’s powerful and effective.
It’s jaw-dropping stunning to me that You, the LORD of all creation, intentionally chose to include me, and us as believers, in Your Kingdom work. Prayer is an intricate, core component of that work. Thank You, Abba, for reminding me again, prayer doesn’t pre-ceed the work, prayer is the work. It’s the unifying work between You as godhead Father, Son, and Spirit, working in tandem with the faithful prayers of Your Church. Prayer is breathtakingly intimate! Humbled, I praise You for the grace gift of prayer!
