The GT Weekend – Justice Week 1

At Gracefully Truthful, weekends aren’t for “checking out”.
Use this time to invite the Almighty’s fullness into you life in a deeper way!
Saturdays and Sundays are a chance to reflect, rest, and re-center our lives onto Christ. Don’t miss the opportunity to connect with other women in prayer, rest your soul in reflective journaling, and spend time worshiping the Creator who longs for intimacy with each of us!

Journal Prompts

1) The “Fight for the Unborn” can easily slip into an “us vs. them” mentality. In thinking through abortion, what actionable steps can you take to promote a woman choosing to give birth instead? Giving voice to their bravery is a simple, but powerful option. Choose your words with great care as you extend grace and support to a woman making a life-changing choice.

2) Jesus referred to the poor in Matthew 6:20-21 and said they will receive the Kingdom of God. As a non-poor person by most of the world’s standards, it’s easy to shrug off the weight of this verse and miss the spiritual poorness. We, like the Pharisees, have blind spots and hardened hearts that don’t want to learn more of our Heavenly Father. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you where your blind spot is and be ready to lean in when He gently whispers.

3) The hurt of pornography runs deep. Have you, or someone you know, been affected by porn? Thankfully we have a Father who is ready to extend grace and forgiveness to anyone who asks. Lord, I praise You that in the midst of the chaos of our world, You reign supreme! You care for all these injustices and are heartbroken when we, the Church, ignores the displaced and ignored members of society. Forgive me for the times I’ve turned and looked the other way simply because it was easier. Time is short in my life; I guard it carefully and am slow to extend it to someone who I don’t see as worthy. Move in my heart, Jesus, remind me to take the moment required to stop and show Your love. Break my prideful spirit in thinking I am somehow better than an unwed teen, an impoverished mom paying with food stamps, or a lady caught in the snares of porn. My sin separates me from Your face just as quickly as theirs does. Let me show grace this week in the face of these injustices.
