The GT Weekend – Prodigal Week Two

At Gracefully Truthful, weekends aren’t for “checking out”.
Use this time to invite the Almighty’s fullness into you life in a deeper way!
Saturdays and Sundays are a chance to reflect, rest, and re-center our lives onto Christ. Don’t miss the opportunity to connect with other women in prayer, rest your soul in reflective journaling, and spend time worshiping the Creator who longs for intimacy with each of us!

Journal Prompts

1) When you find yourself working harder to please God, what can you do to stop and remember how strong His love is for you? Write down ways you may be striving for approval or depending on yourself for righteousness and then make a plan for allowing the Father’s embrace to hold you tight.

2) Ask the Holy Spirit to show you sin in your life that you are too ashamed of to turn over to the Lord. Write out what those are as He brings them to mind. Step into God’s presence as He receives you with open arms, He’s been waiting for your return! Confess and repent, sit in His presence as pure white snow.

3) Have you shown patience and extended grace to someone? How did you feel in seeing their reaction? How much more does the Father love showing you the same. Turn to Him and be renewed! Dance in the freedom of rich grace and mercy you have been given. Allow yourself to rest in that truth today!

Father God, thank You for the truth of Your Word. You have written these stories to show us who You are and what Your character is.
I praise You for being kind, loving, compassionate, and full of grace.
Thank You for this story of the Prodigal Son and for the truth that You long to spill over into my life as a result.  Free me from the traps I fall into, whether legalism or relishing in sinful pleasures. Take my heart and teach me to follow You with complete abandon to my old way of living. Remind me that I don’t need to be perfect before coming to You, You’re in the business of perfecting my brokenness. Humble me to see when I’m showing my hard work and losing sight of Your grace. Keep me close to You, oh my Father.
